Vee is stuck at uptight Grandma Jojo’s house for the summer, who makes her feel like she and her neurodivergence are wrong. So when she finds a ghost girl within the walls who wants to taunt Jojo, Vee is game until things go too far -- and family truths come out. The ghost story felt almost whimsical, while the layers of family trauma and mental illness were the truly dark part that didn’t need a paranormal element. But the reader wants Jojo to succeed and prove to everyone that she is enough just the way she is.
